VenueConference place The conference will be held in Montpellier at the Jean-Jacques Moreau Amphitheater - LMGC laboratory. Montpellier is a central place in the south of France at 15’ tramway from the Mediterranean sea. It is 150 km from Marseille and 350 km from Monaco (East), 350 km from Barcelona (South-West), and 250 km from Toulouse (West). Montpellier is the 8th largest and the fastest growing city in France. It has 300 days of sunshine a year on average. Montpellier is a capital of the culture with 2 operas, a national orchestra, numerous theatres, one of the most beautiful museums of Europe (Fabre museum), numerous international festivals (dance, cinema, music). Montpellier has the eldest faculty of the western world still in activity. It is the 5th research city in France. The two universities and several research institutes host nearly 90 000 students. Montpellier is the world centre of agronomic research because of its prominent research institutes in environmental sciences (INRA, CIRAD, IRSTEA, IRD...). A regional Research Network on granular media entitled «Réseau MiDi» (MiDi Network) was created in 2010. This research network aims at promoting collaborative synergy by removing cultural barriers between researchers working in various areas related to discrete materials in Montpellier and its region.

Venue to LMGC by Tramway from Train station (Gare Saint-Roch):Take tram line 1 towards "Mosson" in front of the train station. Get off at "Château d'Ô" stop on "Avenue des Moulins" (Tramway journey duration: 20 minutes). Walk about 200m in the opposite direction, then turn left to "Rue de St Priest". The laboratory access is 150m on the right. |
